Drömmarnas berg (High Tor) by Maxwell Anderson, directed by Gösta Folke and premiered in October, 1948. The play was written to convince the authorities that allowing the mining of High Tor should not be permitted. This beautiful mountain overlooks Hudson River close to the Tappan Zee Bridge, and mining it would of course destroy the beauty of it. The message of the play was effective and the mountain is still standing today, untouched. |
